Heading for the General Chapter! It is scheduled to take place in Rome from the 1st to the 25th March 2018 with the participation of 43 Brothers and 6 invited lay people. The latter are members of the International Commission of the Mennaisian Family.
The Chapter will be held Via di Val Cannuta, 134, in Rome, at the Guest House of the Company of St. Teresa of Jesus, a congregation of Spanish origin, founded by Father Enrique de Osso. It was in this same house that the General Chapter of 2006 took place. In 2012, the Chapter was held in Ploërmel. This is the 7th Chapter to be held in Rome.
The Guest House of the Company of St Thérèse de Jesus is located 500 meters from Casa Generalizia.
” A new page “. This is the theme for this Chapter at the heart of the Bicentenary. The three weeks will be an opportunity to live three different times.
A first time will be devoted to a personal and communitarian preparation in the form of a retreat, in the presence of some lay Mennaisian guests.
Then, the assembly will organise itself its reflection made of reinterpreting the six years lived since the last Chapter, listening to calls for the present and the future, decisions to be made to “open a new page” of the Mennaisian mission. It is the mission of the Chapter to mark out the road for the next six years by bringing out new avenues of action and animation.
After about two weeks will come the important moment of the election of the new Superior General and his Council.
