As part of the 40th Anniversary of the Arrival of the First Mennaisian Brothers in Culiprán, on August 22nd and 23rd, the First International Seminar was held, which we Entitled: “Transforming Education: Global Challenges, Local Solutions.”
During the 21st Century, countless changes have taken place at the Educational Level. The Mennaisian School of Culiprán has opted for Innovation and through the use of Multiple Intelligences, Technology and Cooperative Work we valueE the learning of Our Students.
The Seminar brought together International Experts in the field of Education for a better understanding. They shared their knowledge and experiences to address the Challenges that arise in Our Teaching Practice. Through Lectures, Roundtables and Workshops, we explored various Teaching Strategies to significantly influence the lives of Our Students.
One of the Keynote Speakers was Mark Church, Making Thinking Visible Educator and Consultant, Project Zero Harvard, whose keynote address was titled: “Making Thinking Visible to Promote Powerful Learning.”
Tina Blythe, Project Director of Project Zero’s online learning collaboration with Independent Schools of Victoria, was also in attendance, with her talk titled: “Turning Inspiration into Action: Strategies for Achieving and Sustaining Change in Our Classrooms and Schools.”
It was also a moment to give thanks for the First Brothers who arrived in this Land of the Culiprán Valley, Brother Joaquín Blanco, Brother Dámaso Cereceda and Brother José Antonio Vivas. It was a Thanksgiving given with the Heart and with the Challenge of following in the Footsteps of Juan María de la Mennais, whom they taught us with their word and example.
